It all started when…
I was born in Edinburgh, but for the last 12 years, East Lothian has been home with my wife, 4 kids & 2 dogs. From a young age I have always had a relationship with art, I was introduced to photography through my wife’s friend. She was expecting her first child, needed someone to assist her husband with photography during a summer of weddings, this was a true ‘baptism of fire’. As soon as I held the camera, I was in love, my head was buzzing with possibilities of what to shoot. My love of photography took me on an incredible journey with my project, Edinburgh People’. I ended up on TV talking about my exhibitions at the Scottish Parliament, Summerhall and the Drill Hall, my book can be found in the Scottish National Portrait and Scottish National galleries.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a true photograph is a moment forever captured in time. It’s a still image that tells a story of love, fear, wanting and need. I’ve always been a story teller, using the light and colour seized through my camera lens.
